Everything that happened at this year's Athens Science Festival
28-10-2022The festival was a success, attracting more than 10.000 visitors to the Technopolis City of Athens
Another exciting Athens Science Festival came successfully to its end, attracting more than 10.000 visitors to the Technopolis City of Athens, including 1.650 primary and secondary school students. From the 21st to the 23rd of October, young and old alike came into contact with all the developments in science and technology through numerous innovative activities that took us to the "Worlds of Tomorrow", exploring issues such as climate change, artificial intelligence, robotics, sustainable development, rapid technological advances, resource management etc. For three full days, from morning to evening, Technopolis hosted 550 scientific partners from 90 different academic, research and educational institutions, 25 workshops for children, 20 talks, 15 workshops for adults and more than 70 interactive events with exhibits and demonstration experiments. The workshops for adults and teachers were again the focal point of the festival, while all the areas of Technopolis were filled with interactive exhibits, experiment benches, art, photography and science exhibitions.
Also, for three days the outdoor spaces of Technopolis were filled with "Newton's Apples" by Homo Ludens - Urban Dramaturgy Explorations. The young visitors searched and collected digital apples from open and hidden places, winning real apples (!) and understanding the law of gravity in a highly entertaining and experiential way. At the Athens Science Festival 2022, the audience got in touch with science, knowledge became one with play and fun and, finally, it was proven that science can change the way we act, think and live every day!
