Homo Ludens non-profit organization, is thrilled to announce the launch of the «Athens Games Trilogy», a groundbreaking project that merges culture, education, and digital city games in the heart of Athens. The official release is set for March 2025.

The «Athens Games Trilogy» is a series of innovative digital city games designed to provide a modern, interactive experience while showcasing Athens' rich cultural heritage.

The trilogy includes three unique applications:

Athens Drama Walk: A theatrical journey that introduces players to the world of ancient Greek drama.
Socrates' Legacy Quest: A game that immerses players in the philosophical legacy of Socrates.
Create Your Myth in Athens: A game where players create their myth with the power of Generative Artificial Intelligence.

Through these applications, players will explore iconic landmarks in Athens, delve into ancient Greek literature, philosophy, and mythology, and solve puzzles highlighting the value of our cultural heritage. The trilogy offers a one-of-a-kind immersive experience, blending entertainment with education.

Whether you're a local looking to rediscover the city in a creative way or a tourist eager to uncover the essence of Greek culture through play, the Athens Games Trilogy is perfect for you. The games will be accessible via smartphones, offered free of charge, and available in Greek and English.

The game's concept, script, and design resulted from the research collaboration between Alkis Gounaris, Kyriaki Ioannidou, Katia Makrykosta, and Avra Sidiropoulou.

The development was carried out by the Homo Ludens Research Team under the auspices and financial support of the Greek Ministry of Culture as part of the "Creative Greece - Digital Culture 2024" program.
