Tania Neofytou

Tania Neofytou is a PhD (Hons) postgraduate and a graduate of the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of Athens. Her doctoral thesis is entitled: The Monstrous in 20th century European drama. She has participated in scientific conferences and has published articles on the Greek and European theatre of the 20th and 21st century in Greek and foreign journals. As a postdoctoral researcher she participated in the Th.IS.B.Y. programme at the Institute of Mediterranean Studies and in 2020 she participated in the research team that published the volume Anthology of Biographies of Greek Actors. In 2007 she participated in the writing team of the book: Children play... theatre: an index of plays for children. She teaches directing and acting at the Master's Programme in Theatre Studies of the Open University of Cyprus and History and Drama at the Hellenic Open University. She has worked as an assistant director In the theater and has participated in seminars on directing and acting. She participates as a director in amateur theater groups, has created the theater group of the Korydallos EPAL (Vocational Training Senior Highschool) and has directed works by Brecht, Dario Fo, Dürenmat, Ionesco, Gogol, Stratiev etc. Since 2003 she has been working as a drama educator.
