Alkis Gounaris
Co-Founder - Member of the Advisory Board - Researcher
Alkis Gounaris is a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer, since 2012, at the Department of Philosophy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. His areas of expertise include Philosophy of Human Cognition and Artificial Intelligence, Ethics, and Applied Ethics. He holds two Bachelor’s Degrees, one in Sport Sciences, and one in Philosophy; he also holds a Master’s Degree in Ethics, and a PhD in the Philosophy of Mind, all four by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
From 2020 to 2023, Dr. Gounaris played a key role as a researcher and coordinator of the European research project «Sophia at School», which focused on the introduction of the philosophy in primary education. He currently contributes to the Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence, the National Commission for Bioethics and Technoethics and is an associate faculty member at the Open University of Cyprus. He has published over fifty papers in both Greek and international journals and conferences. In addition, he has been a pioneer in the organization of more than 150 public events aimed at promoting philosophy to the general public.
Alongside his academic career, he trained and specialised in the fields of publishing, marketing, business and communication, areas in which he worked for several years.
Through his participation in the Homo Ludens advisory board, he contributes to the creation of quality content and offers our ecosystem guidance on bridging the gap between the academic and the business environment.
