Vasia Aletra

Vasia Aletra is a graduate of Biology from the University of Ioannina and holds a master's degree in Science, Technology, and Society Studies from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is passionate about science communication and has given public talks that combine science, society, and awareness. She participated in the Famelab 2019 science communication competition, which took place at the Athens Science Festival, where she won the third place. Since then, she has dedicated herself to science communication. She is the creator of HER Academia, a podcast that presents Science from a feminist perspective, promoting gender equality and inclusion. HER Academia received the support of the British Council and Women On Top for its implementation. Vasia has participated in artistic projects at festivals such as the Athens Digital Arts Festival and the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, and has collaborated with organizations such as the Hellenic Adult Education Association for the creation of a podcast episode. Additionally, she is a Career Coach and Recruiter for the company LeadCompass Career Services and is actively involved in Women's Empowerment. She has collaborated with organizations such as SciCo, where she undertook the role of Volunteer Coordinator for the Athens Science Festival 2022-2023. Lastly, she is trained as a women's empowerment facilitator, offering women's empowerment seminars to 50 young women through the two-year Womentors program of the Lambrakis Foundation in Greece.
